Frightening noises from my vertebrae

I went to my doctor after getting so sore at work I had to go home. She said here’s some anti-inflammatories and get thee to a physio!

So, today I had my first ever physiotherapy. It was neat. My favourite bit was when she was massaging my neck, then I liked when she spread goo on my spine and ultra-sonicked my vertebrae. It was cool. She gave me some exercises to do: pull your chin back so that your whole head moves back over your neck. It makes my neck make alarming noises like maybe my bones were all out of whack before I did it. I’m supposed to do it ten times each hour. It makes me feel good.

Then I caught a train to work and was thrown all around and quite possibly undid all the good physio stuff.
I did my last Myth and Legend class visit today. Here’s a kid gem for you, difference between myth and legend: Myth is Greek and Roman, Legend is something else.

  1. I’ve only been to physio twice. It was for when I sprained my ankle. The first time was the day after I sprained it and it was mostly ultra sonic stuff and try and move it and not flinch from the pain. The next time was a few days later and I got to try and balance on this funny ball with wings. My exercise was (and is still when I remember) that when I am standing for a long time I am supposed to stand on one foot at a time. Also to do that with my eyes shut. This is to get balance back! fun.

  2. Oh oh, I had to balance on the funny ball thing too, and had the ultra sonic thingy AND I had my ankle encased in this weird case thing that had freezing water pumped into it! Physio is cool (aside from all the pain, swelling, bruising and torn ligament-yness of getting there in the first place). The crazy thing about the physio at VUW is that it is down a number of flights of stairs, which is just great when you have had a freak aerobics accident that tore ligaments in your ankle…
    p.s. I love that myth definition ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Entirely unrelated, but thought you’d be pleased to know that ad with the dental nurse & drooling teenager has been pulled after a complaint was upheld by the BSA. (I remember a previous entry on this).

  4. hey dude, physio’s are good ay… glad to see that your dr is on to it and didn’t say “here, take painkillers for a couple weeks and see if it goes away!” – Hope you feel better soon my friend ๐Ÿ™‚
